Part of the well know "Rough Guides" series this guidebook provides wider coverage of the South West.

Useful if you are planning to tour the region as well as visting St Ives and covering all the main towns and visitor attractions.

A Dorling Kindersley publication and like their other travel guides it is lavishly illustrated with drawings, photographs and maps. Plus of course plenty of useful information for the traveller.

It includes recommendations for where to stay and shoppping plus restaurant reviews.

The format is to list "top 10" in various categories such as places to visit, scenic drives and days out with children.

It also include a top 10 things to avoid in the area.

Ordnance Survey Map - Lands End, Penzance and St Ives  

This is the best map of the local area that you will find - covering West Cornwall from Lands end up to Godrevy Point on the north coast and Praa Sands on the south coast.

This 'Explorer' map is the most detailed published by Ordnance Survey and is perfect if you enjoy outdoor activities such as walking, cycling or horse riding. It will also be useful if you are planning to explore the area by car.

It contains a huge amount of detail - as well as all roads it includes footpaths, bridleways, cylce trails, ancient mouments, churches, pubs, museums - just about everything of interest in the area.

Invaluable if you wish to explore the countryside around St Ives.

   
       

 
Ordnance Survey Map - Isles of Scilly  

One of the most popular day trips (or longer) from St Ives is to visit The Scillies. You can take the helicopter from Penzance Heliport, the plane from Lands End Airport or The Scillonian ferry from Penzance Harbour.

The islands offer some great walking so this map will help you to explore the beauty of the area.

Like the map above it contains details of just about everything that you might want to visit on the islands.

A map covering the whole of Cornwall - ideal if you are planning to tour around the whole county by road.

It is large scale, easy to read and includes tourist information plus where to park in the major towns. Also a place name index to help you to find you planned destination easily.
